This is just a simple online journal for my friends and myself to document the journey I’ll be taking during a year off from teaching and ‘Year On’ for everything else.  What does a ‘Year On’ entail?

  • Self-discovery
  • Adventure
  • Healthy living for body, soul and mind
  • Opening to new experiences and new ways of thinking and being
  • Music making
  • Refreshment and rejuvenation so that if I do return to teaching I can do so with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and commitment.
  • What ever pops up in the next 12 months

Please join me in this journey and leave comments as you read.  Take care, all!

Love and peace — David

Awesome! Have a great year. If your ‘year on’ includes any time in Japan, New Zealand or Eastern Canada, let me know! Safe travels! Looking forward to seeing where the wanderlust takes you!

Good luck with your year’s adventure ! You are a special bloke & I’m sure this will be a special year for you too. I’ll be following your story – even if I don’t write you that often. Thanks for all the fun and music you brought with you to Hanoi.
    Cheers

Lily and I will look forward to reading about your adventures. Maybe you’ll be in NZ the same time as we are?! Anything is possible!

    Hi David,
Great idea – I wish you well on your adventure (with a wee tinge of jealousy too). I look forward to getting my kicks vicariously thro’ reading about yours!!
    Miss you guys……..
    Mike :)

    • Miss you as well, Mike! I’ll be in Oz in December but in Melbourne and Brisbane. If you’re going to be in either of those areas let me know! Interested in cycling from Brisbane to Melb.?

        Hi :)
We will most definitely be in Melbourne at Christmas time. Lisa is from Melbourne, her parents have a big house close to the Yarra River in an inner city suburb called Kew. Great running and riding area. Golf good too. Not sure that family responsibilities will allow me to join you on a bike up to Brisbane – as much as I like the sound of the idea!
Let’s keep in touch and make sure we catch up in Melbourne :)

Hey DC, this is great- am I missing something- or is there a way I can “follow” this- and get updates whenever you write?
Cheers mate! See you in Oz when you get there!

    • Hi CS — I’m going to find out how to automatically get updates on FB. It seems like this should be possible. You could RSS as well. I am planning flights as we speak. Melbourne is a definite — probably arrive a few days before Xmas, fly to Brisbane for the folk festival (cycling to Woodford) I may cycle all the way down to Melbourne from there before flying on to Christchurch. Can’t wait to see you!
